What For?

 
Why must I live my life in doubt
Why don't I know what mine's about
I'm still swinging in the jive
Although I know my life's a lie
People say "life goes on"
But I know that it's all gone
So I have to ask "what for?"
Ever since I was a kid
I always wondered what I did
Never being very cool
And I was always failing school
What I did was always wrong
But it'll all be gone before too long
So I have to ask "what for?"
I've been taking the long way
For my whole life and a day
Not knowing where I am
And having a life thats only a sham
But now I know what I will do
Because my whole life is not through
It is now my time to shine
Everything has turned out fine
So all I hace to say is "thank you"
